Learning in the 21st century

This blog is dedicated to the dissemination and elaboration of results from the research program Learning in the 21st century headed by Stord/Haugesund University College in cooperation with the University of Oslo and Tromsø, and directed by an international Steering Committe consisting of distinguished scholars. Future posts will address a range of topics primarily related to; a) different ways of conceptualizing the role and function of digital media (and students’ associated knowledge, skills and habits) in education; b) the development of criteria for exemplary interaction between education and out-of-school learning; c) comparative analyses of high vs low achieving educational cultures in terms of students and teachers’ perceptions of the relationship between education and out-of-school learning; d) theoretical perspectives on similarities and differences between education and out-of-school learning; and e) philosophical foundations for Learning in the 21st century. Comments and posts by the readers of the blog are encouraged, as you thereby contribute to keeping the constantly evolving process of learning alive, and add depth and relevance to a research project which aims to make a difference.
